Didn't make it to Boston b4 it went into dry dock. Got an excuse to go back to Boston in a couple of years!

I was very lucky on this day was in the area and heard it on the radio of it was going to turn around full sail this was the 2nd to last turnaround before being dry-docked for 2 years

This photo was taken from Castle Island located at City Point in South Boston MA site of Fort Independence. I was on the Fishing Pier looking towards Logan International Airport. .`Time
This was taken around 10:46am on August 22nd 2014, I remember getting up in the morning and seeing on the news that The USS Constitution was doing a turnaround under sail and would be the 2nd to last before being put into dry-dock for a renovation that would take 2 years. I knew I needed to get over to take some photos of the event. I always find myself practicing my skills in shooting DSLR and expanding my hobby of photography This is one of my favorite location since I was a child and find myself at this location a lot as it has many great opportunity to photograph boats, ships, and airplanes. Sometime all of them together.Lighting
Lighting was kinda difficult on this day as it was a misty cloudy and cool day. I was able to capture the sky with some openings of light and blue skies.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3200 with a AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm lens and No flash. ISO-100, F/6.1, 1/640 sec. 35mm focal length 99. This was only the 5th time out with this camera after not having a camera for over 4 yearsInspiration
I am really into the History of the early days of Boston and love the beauty of "Old Ironside" she is a wonderful ship and still a commissioned Navel vessel. Knowing that the USS Constitution was going to be put into drydock for 2 years and this was one the last turnaround in full sails, I took the opportunity in photographing the event. What an opportunity to not only see the oldest war ship in sail but to also capture it. I love capturing moments in time knowing that no one else can capture the same photograph.Editing
Yes I had to do some editing to clear up the misty fog like clouds and crop to put ship into the center of the print at the time I was still in my beginning stages of editing my photography with software using PaintShop Pro 16.00. basically using auto settings. I have since switched to using Lightroom and Photoshop finding that I have also improved with the processes of capturing my prints.In my camera bag
I am still in the hobbyist stage of photography and I only have some basic equipment still. This is what I take with me; my Nikon D3200 with a Nikkor 18-55 stock lens and a AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm lens, 2 extra batteries, extra SD Cards and always take along a tripod.Feedback
If I could teach someone about capturing the perfect photo I would suggest to take many shots of your subject in different settings and position. I have come to realize that I can't shoot 1 photo and expect perfection, it takes patience and practice to find the right settings and lighting. I have come a long way since photographing this print and continue to spend many hours on learning how to make my photos into pieces of art.
