There are two kinds of bull fighting in rodeo. One is cowboy protection, where the job of the bull fighting team is to save the fallen rider from harm. The second is Freestyle Bull Fighting where it is a one on one display of skill with the bull. Both are dangerous and require courage and skill.
This is Freestyle Bullfighting where the bull fighter gets to display his skills in front of a Mexican Fighting Bull. The Mexican Fighting Bulls are never ridden, and are bred to be smaller, faster, stronger, and have more endurance than the larger riding bulls.
Some ProRodeo bulls are reasonably gentle and once they get the rider off their back, all they want to do is get out of the arena.
You will NEVER see a gentle Fighting Bull. They are bred to be mean and aggressive. They are very smart and can turn on a dime from either end. They have one goal and that is to seriously hurt anything they set their sights on.

Just noticed the knee braces. Nothing like a veteran clown I am sure.

Great capture! Great summary of such an amazing sport too! They have lots of personality too when they're not un the arena working!
