I don't think he landed it on this try. A little something he is working on for the July comp.

Location
This was taken at East Side Sports Complex in St. Charles, IL.Time
Afternoon.Lighting
Luckily it was an overcast day. There is no shade here so the clouds keep the glare from the sun causing issues with over exposure.Equipment
Nikon D3100. I do not use a tripod with skate photography because it can be too hard to move it fast if a board or skater comes flying at me.Inspiration
I love watching my boy skate. I have been taking photos of his progress since he started at 6 years old. The photos help him see what he is doing right or wrong and it gives me something to do.Editing
I cropped the shot and did minimal adjustments to color. In my camera bag
I have 2 slave flashes, one 18mm to 55mm and one 55mm to 200mm lens, lens wipes, comb, marker, chapstick, extra SD card, and extra battery.Feedback
I use my ears as much as my eyes. Each trick is done at a specific speed, you can hear the wheels hit the ramp and know how fast he is coming up. I listen with my eyes closed, I let the sound sink in. Then I watch through the camera to get my movement to follow the skater. It takes a few tries, but I usually get what I am looking for.
