This is an iconic photo as you walk towards the stairs carved into stone, through a tunnel to the lower wooden walk that snakes through Plitvick Lakes National Park, Croatia.Time
This was my last shot of the day, so late afternoon.Lighting
We had a light cloud cover by this time of day so the lightening was a little flat, but lovely.Equipment
This was a handheld shot using my Sony a77ii and my standard travel lens Sony DT 2.8/16-50 SSM.Inspiration
I had always wanted to see Plitvick Lakes National Park in Croatia. We rented a small farmhouse near the park for several days and got into the pace of life. Visiting Plitvick Lakes National Park at different times of day and light was a real joy.Editing
I almost always tweak an image in Light Room. If the photo is from my iPhone then it is almost always tweaked through Snapseed. In my camera bag
Sony a7ii, Sony a77ii and Sony a6000 are my current cameras. I generally carry which ever camera fits my needs on a given day. The a6000 has been my travel camera for the last five years.Feedback
What works for me is to go to an area and spend some time. As much as possible, but at least three or four nights. There is something to be said for immersion. And bring the camera you are most familiar with on your trips. I have been traveling with a Sony a6000 and one zoom lens for five years now. I know the camera intimately and refused to upgrade for that reason. And we have never let each other down yet. Although I admit to eyeing the a6400 for the eye focus. Having said that, this shot was with my Sony a77ii and my standard travel lens Sony DT 2.8/16-50 SSM. bought the 6000 after this trip
