Location
A few of my good friends and I were driving from Breckenridge to Aspen. The main highways had a closure and we decided to take a back road and stumbled across a pretty cool location. Shot a bunch of photo's and ended up liking this one the most.Time
It was mid afternoon, and we stopped along the side of the road to check out a few really cool areas I saw from the car. I never like shooting outdoors during the afternoon or mid morning, because the light is so harsh. This time was different because a good amount of clouds came in and made the mid day light not as bad.Lighting
I love shooting in natural light, mainly evenings right before the sun goes down. This time was different, as the clouds rolled in I shot a bunch of photos with my friends and ended up with some really cool shots. The clouds helped to cover up the harsh light the middle of the day offers.Equipment
I had my Nikon D7000 and 17-70 Sigma Lens with me at the time of the photo.Inspiration
I enjoy everyday moments and things that happen in the in between. This was in between a trip from Breckenridge to Aspen. I try to capture as much life as possible, and what goes on around me every day. The moments in life where no one really notices are what I really love, or the "in between".Editing
I post process using light-room, with some touch ups with color and tones. In my camera bag
My Camera is always with me, it is a Nikon D610. If I am just going out for the day I bring my 50mm prime. This is my go to daily lens, amazing for portraits and great in low light. For landscape I prefer to use a 70-200 F2.8. If I am shooting after dusk I always have my tripod with me and a few filters as well.Feedback
Just shoot anything and everything you can, every moment you see can become something magical. Everyone sees life differently, which is what make photography so amazing. You can take two different people, have them shoot the same thing and the outcome is totally different. Take pictures of what you love, and what makes you happy after all it is your art! Light is huge for me, a slight difference in light can dramatically change the emotion behind a photo. I am always on the lookout for dramatic evening or early morning light, get up early and it may become the best photo you have ever taken. And most of all, always experiment and never stop shooting, you can learn something new with every photo taken.
