Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo at the Tulsa Zoo.Time
It was around 2pmLighting
The hot summer sun was beating on the meerkat and then he moved to the shade for comfort and stroke a pose for me.Equipment
This was shot on a SonyA200, 55-200mm lens. I now have a Canon T6s and it is wonderful to shoot with.Inspiration
I loved the seriousness and playfullness the meerkat displayed. I was just shooting him doing his thing when I captured this photo!Editing
The only post processing that I really did was converting the image into a black and white preset that I had already. I made the shadows a bit darker and sharpened the image up a bit as well.In my camera bag
Normally I have my Canon T6s body, my 18-135mm lens, my 55-250mm lens, a flash, plenty of sd cards because I nevee know when I will need an extra, UV filters since I usually shoot outdoors, a brush to clean my lenses, a remote control for shutter, and most importantly... LENS CAPS!Feedback
With shooting animals, you never know what might happen. Number one: Get down to the animal's level. Number two: Have patience. Number three: Don't stress about taking photos, have fun with it and enjoy yourself!
