Location
This photo was taken spontaneously near a local market, in the town of Las Tablas, province of Los Santos, Republic of Panama, in the heart of the country and agro-rural areas known as "el interior". This area is characterized by what is Panama's version of "cowboys", who are called "manitos" (meaning men from the agricultural areas) and you can spot them by the way they dress, always with a typical hat that protects them from the blazing sun, but also by their cow leather sandals, known as "cutarras", which are hand-made and tailored to each person.Time
I believe it was at full noon.Lighting
Not really, just caught the moment with natural light from the street.Equipment
Believe it or not, I used a simple Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ25, which is basically a pocket camera for snapshots, but since it has a Leica lens and an excellent automatic light reader, the shot turned out good enough, though it is their presence in itself what made the shot authentic.Inspiration
I try to always carry a good pocket camera with me, though nowadays cell phones have pretty decent lenses (Huawei), so I tend to take a photo of an interesting subject or moment I might happen to discover on-the-fly.Editing
Simply edited with sepia filter. In my camera bag
Like I previously said, I try to always carry a good pocket camera with me, though nowadays cell phones have pretty decent lenses (Huawei), so I tend to take a photo of an interesting subject or moment I might happen to discover on-the-fly.Feedback
No equipment alone makes good photography. Though I have been just an amateur photographer for years and because of my age I went from analog (I had a fantastic Olympus and then a Canon) to now digital, only if you train your eye to get the right shot can you produce interesting photos. Of course knowing all the technical details is absolutely helpful, but photography is an art and, as such, it requires a sense of aesthetics.
