Small correction, that's a star fortress, not a castle ;)
Great composition, dark colors make it look like it is a scene from a dark type story. Well done!

I was in Corfu with my son for a week this May to explore the island photographically.Time
One night I went to the new castle of Corfu Town for a shot at night, because the castle is illuminated at night. Althought, I noticed an upcoming storm I went out. Our hotel was not far away and for a night shot the clouds in the sky are not a problem. While waiting for the blue hour, I made test shots every few minutes.Lighting
For night shots of illuminated objects you have to find the moment, when the artificial light harmonizes to the natural, ambient light.Equipment
Beside a sturdy tripod, I used my full frame camera with a wide-angle lens. Don't forget to disable the vibration reduction or image stabilizer, when putting your camera on a tripod. This wonderful invention would ruin your photo, if you don't do so.Inspiration
I like shooting at twilight. This is a very special time between night and day. It's a calm time. People and animals come to rest, even the wind usually becomes milder or stop.Editing
I usually don't do much post processing. When I started photography, back in film days, there were not much options for post processing. Thus, I balance the highlights and the shadows, increase the saturation and a mild post-sharpening. That's all.In my camera bag
I usually use two lenses: my f4 24-120 and my f4.5-5.6 70-300. Additionally I have my fisheye lens. Although, it's a fun-lens, I love using it in landscape photography as well as in huge buildings like churches. I also have my angle view-finder and a remote shutter-release, a few lens cleaning-clothes, a small torch, 2 additional batteries, 3 additional SD-Card, a flash, dextrose and tissues in my bag.Feedback
My advice is, be prepared. Go, read a lot in advance, when going to a certain place. Study maps, search for similar photos, use google-earth. Be able to handle your camera blind. In the field, you often don't have time to search for the right setting in the menus. Use short-cuts wherever possible. Use custom menus.
