Location
I actually took this photo from the hiway above the river on the way to my parents house. We were leaving from my in-laws place, which was somewhere on the otherside of the photo and down the river a bit.Time
It had to have been sometime late morning, early afternoon... I'd say between 11-2. I always drug my feet when it came time to leave the lake at my in-laws, even though we were going to be going to my parents house, which also sat near a lake.Lighting
I didn't do anything with the lighting... it was all natural, sent by God. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and was lucky enough to get a beautiful shot... All I had to do wasI believe for this particular photo, I used my press the button, lol.Equipment
For this particular photo, I believe I only had my Fuji XS1. No other equipment.Inspiration
We were out on the lake the day before, in that same spot, fishing. The view is beautiful all around. Even though I had taken plenty of shots from the water, I wanted some overlooking the lake. So, when we were traveling to my parents house I had my window down snapping shots on the fly. If I felt that an I had a great photo opportunity, I would have my husband pull over, or in this case, completely turn around and go back to a pullout area and I would walk until I could get a great angle.Editing
Honestly, I can't really remember. Usually, I don't do a lot of post processing if I can help it, other than cropping. Sometimes I adjust the contrast... but I feel that if I can get what I want the first time, it saves me time in the long run.In my camera bag
I am an amateur photographer. I do it for fun. I have always loved Fuji cameras, but for Christmas 2 years ago my husband bought me the Canon EOS Rebel T7 package deal. Not bad... bought a new backpack, I have a lightweight tripod, a remote, lens cleaner spray and a dual ended lens cleaner stick/dust brush that I modified the one end of with a very soft piece of leather to avoid any scratches. I also have a 18-400mm Tamron lens and a few lens filters, along with the lenses that came with the camera. I also keep an extra battery, charger, SD cards, SD card reader, and my Samsung Surface Pro in there.. It may sound heavy, but it's not. I usually keep it in my car while I'm taking pictures (not stored there!) as I don't stray too far from it.Feedback
Go for a drive with your significant other, roll the window down, (make sure your lense and your camera strap is secured) hold on tightly and start snapping those pictures! If you see something you like, don't hesitate to (safely) pull over or turn around to find a place where you can walk or hike into to get your perfect angle for that perfect shot. You'll have a great bonding time in the process.
