Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in our dining room at our house.

Time

It was mid afternoon on his first day home, our new beagle puppy, Hank, had been out playing in the yard with our Labrador, Lilly he came in and was so sleepy. He laid down on one of the dog beds and was just instantly asleep. I got my camera, laid down on the floor in front of him and started shooting.

Lighting

It was natural light through our dining room windows. I loved how it showed off his beautiful coloring.

Equipment

I was using a Canon Rebel t3i and a 70-200 f2.8 is.

Inspiration

I love all my dogs and can NEVER have enough photos of them. When he fell asleep, he looked so peaceful, and I loved that I could get down and get a shot that showed him on his level. This is one of my favorite photos that I have of him.

Editing

I sharpened the photo just slightly and added just a touch of saturation to bring out his coloring.

In my camera bag

I shoot Canon with a newer Rebel model. My go to lens is the Canon 70-200mm f.28 IS. I love this lens, it is very versatile. I also have a Canon 28-135mm and a Canon 60 mm Macro.

Feedback

Get down on the dog or cats level. Shooting from above wouldn't not have given me the same effect.
