Today’s photo is a blend of two different shots I took at a construction site. I shot the peeling, rusty paint on a metal tower thinking I could use those shots in building my own texture library. I planned to make that my photo for the day.
As I headed back to the car, I noticed the leafless trees in the distance against a variable gray sky. I grabbed a few shots of that and headed home. While processing the photos I thought how interesting it might be to blend the two images together. I changed the tree image to black and white and then, using Photoshop, I layered the peeling paint image over the trees and sky and set the blend mode to Difference creating this beautiful, bold, surreal image.
