Behind The Lens

Location

This was in Hiram Ga.

Time

We had bird feeders on the from porch and every morning this rascal would come and fill up for the day. One morning I saw him out the window in the yard. I gathered my gear and quietly waited in the door way and on cue, Rocky appeared.

Lighting

Normal outdoor lighting.

Equipment

Canon 5d mk3 and I believe this one was a 100-400mm push pull zoom, wide open. Rockey was coming up the front porch steps which are actually steep and tall for a raised ranch house. The background was actually a bit distant from the angle and it blurred just right.

Inspiration

I was testing new lenses on the wild life around the house.

Editing

I usually just use Lightroom for some basic adjustments and crops.

In my camera bag

Canon 5Dmk3, 7Dmk2, 85 1.2 prime, 24-70mm and a 500mm sigma prime if shooting aviation photos (actually a separate bag). 2 speed lights and extra batteries.

Feedback

Situational awareness would be a nice saying but more importantly be ready always. I will hardly be without a camera even if its in the back seat going to the store or on the bar in the kitchen.
