Sports Pavilion at Crystal Place Gardens Porto City Portugal. Nowadays called Rosa Mota Sports Pavilion (Rosa Mota Is Olympic Marathoner Champion) was built in 1951-52 to replace the real but old Crystal Palace built in 1865 for the Universal expo held in Porto, it followed the same principles of the London Hyde Park Queen Victoria Crystal Palace built for the Universal expo of 1851 held in London. There was no need to demolish it as there is space enough for both buildings, the gardens and the new Almeida Garrett Library recently built, however the decision of the politicians of those days was for the demolition which was never accepted by the Porto population hence the reason for it to be continued to be called the Crystal Palace!
