This magical place was found during a canoe trip on the Okarito lagoon which is on the West coast of South Island New Zealand. We found the mouth to Deep Creek and paddled off up there. The tree canopy began to close in and as we paddled further away from the lagoon we came upon this amazing bank of blechnum novae zealandiae perfectly reflected in the dark, still waters of Deep Creek.
