Location
This photo was taken in my backyard in Florida. Every night during the winter months, the egrets would fly to this Oak tree to roost for the night. I was lucky enough to capture this one with the fountain on the lake behind it. This was my first attempt at serious photography.Time
Evening after the sun went down.Lighting
I tried brightening the light from the fountain, but it looked like fire. In the end, I decided a simple black and white was most effective.Equipment
I just bought my Cannon Rebel T5 and was experimenting with it.Inspiration
I was fascinated by these great birds flying in from all directions to roost in this tree every night. It was a special setting in my own back yard.Editing
No, other than auto correct. In my camera bag
Camera, extra lens and extra battery.Feedback
I'm too much of a novice to give advice, but someone once told me to try to look at images from a different angle than you normally would. So that thought is always in the back of my mind.
