Location
This was taken in Neuschwanstein, Germany. I took it on a bridge that you can hike to from the bottom of the Neuschwanstein castle (from the bottom left) that allows you to get a real fantastic and picturesque angle. It look like something you'd see on a postcard!Time
This was taken just after 7p.Lighting
As you can see in the photo, it was overcast where the castle was but light abounded in the background.Equipment
I was using my Canon EOS Rebel T3i. Just a standard 18mm lens at 29mm, mf on, ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/320. Simple.Inspiration
Well, I hadn't expected how beautiful the view was going to be once I reached the bridge that I mentioned earlier. With the gorgeous Romanesque architecture and colors of the castle, it was just too good of a shot to pass up!Editing
I added a little definition, not too much, to the photo for the added realism because I knew my camera didn't have that capability at the time. I also wanted the blue roof to stand out a bit more because the overcast drowned out the color, so I increased the saturation just enough to get the blue just right. In all, not too much else was done. It wasn't ideal conditions for the shot, but I wanted to keep as much as the original shot as I could without over embellishing what was beautiful inherently. In my camera bag
I had a cheap bag which had my other lens (300mm), back up strap, cleaning supplies, and a couple Euro. I guess I'm a minimalist.Feedback
I'm not sure my little experience warrants or gives me the right to give advice, but I would say that the experience is awesome and capture the moments which are most memorable and meaningful to you, especially when traveling. I really didn't want to be on the bridge because it was sketchy and I had some vertigo. I was encouraged by the thought that getting this picture brings along with it my wonderful experiences with friends at the castle. Germany is full of wonderful things, this is just one.
