It was a long evening walk along the Gower beach, then he (the dog) came and joined us, from no where. It is not unusual to find a dog in beach, but to our surprise he walked with us for the rest of our journey as a long lost friend and vanished once we finish our walk..:)

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is taken from Gower beach (South West Wales, UK) an area of out standing natural beauty.

Time

It was one winter afternoon.

Lighting

I used natural lighting.

Equipment

Canon Powershot A720 IS no flash fired.

Inspiration

Both me and my husband enjoy our long walks, and we are often take our photos so we can freeze the moment we enjoy for the future. This shot is special because this dog joined us in that long walk for hours, he came from no where and that time we were not so sure about the Gower walking routes, he literally lead us. From a photographic point of view I was glad to see this frame through my view finder, it reflects a specail bond between my husband and this friend. At the end of the journey he disappeared as he came.

Editing

I use a simple post processing method, but something I felt very effect. I converted this to black and white and if you look closer you can see, I reversed the image. Sometimes you should break the rule.

In my camera bag

I use a Canon 400D, but I love social documentary type of photographs. So I always a carry a point and shoot with me.

Feedback

Always look for a frame. A decent phone or a camera will help you to capture that. The most unusual and effective captures are spontaneous. So be ready.
