Location
This beautiful Green Tree Python was photographed at Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina.Time
This photograph was taken mid-day inside of an exhibit on the Zoo grounds. This Green Tree Python was inside of a glass enclosure and the environment was dimly lit.Lighting
Due to the interior of the exhibit being dimly lit, it was important to get a shot of this Green Tree Python that was at the ideal angle to accentuate the beauty and details of this snakes features.Equipment
My camera was a Digital 35 mm Fuji Finepix S8500. No flash was used in this shot as I did not want to disturb the Python in anyway.Inspiration
Although I am not typically a "fan" of snakes, I appreciate their beauty. I enjoy capturing the texture of their skin, the vibrancy of their color, and in this particular photograph the beautiful golden eye with the hint of a spark of light below it.Editing
All that was done to this photograph, was simply cropping the photograph, adjusting the levels, and blurring the background out.In my camera bag
I travel light, I typically just bring my Finepix S8500 camera, a spare set of freshly charged batteries, a sun visor to help me see the image I am trying to capture on bright days that that is the extent of it in most cases.Feedback
The best advice I can give is the best advice I was given, "learn the functions of camera very well." In this particular photograph, knowing how to use my Macro setting with my simple camera was what produced a nicely detailed shot.
