Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Sormano, a small town on the Lombard Pre-Alps, in Italy. More precisely was taken on Colma di Sormano.

Time

I took this picture in the early morning hours of a winter day

Lighting

Are always attracted by the sunlight and shadows play that can create. I often like to take pictures in the sun behind the trees, because it excites me.

Equipment

I took this picture with my first digital camera, a compact FUJIFILM Finepix A500. This shows that is often not the equipment that matters (although it certainly can make a difference).

Inspiration

When I'm walking on the mountains of my childhood, I let myself get excited by any message nature drop me at the time. The sun, the trees, the colors, the animals, even the sounds are for me a source of inspiration. In this particular photo, the sun seems caught by tree branches reflected in the snow, he was particularly inspired.

Editing

For this photo the post production process was limited to adjusting the contrast and brightness, having taken directly in black and white.

In my camera bag

Now my equipment is "better" than when I took this picture. Usually in the bag I have my Nikon D80 and two lenses: Nikkor 18/135mm and Nikkor 50mm. Then when you need to use a tripod and, where needed, a timer remote control shutter.

Feedback

The only advice I can give is this: Do excite by nature and your surroundings. The rest comes by itself.
