So, I'm not typically a fan of major alterations to my images, but the original of this (Dancing in Air) was against a stark white sky and I wanted to see what he would look like if I added some actual sky color. I think he certainly sticks out more, but I'm not sure which version is more attractive or if this one looks fake to a viewer. What say you, viewer? --- A red-tailed Tropicbird or Koa'e dances in the air in a courtship dance off the cliffs of the Kilauea Lighthouse and Wildlife Refuge in Kauai, HI. Taken April 2015. nice shot of the bird, they're so hard to capture. When you silo, contract the selection a couple of pixels and you won't get the white line around your subject.

Thanks for the advice. I've actually learned a much better selection method since I did this. Did you see the original image with the white background? I actually prefer that one to this myself, probably in part because I can see the selection halo in this.
