I just love this picture. This is the happiest looking dog I have ever seen. You captured his or her emotion.

Location
We were on set in the studio with our 8 week-old and was setting up lights for a fashion head shot and needed a stand in.Time
I believe we shot this around 4pm, but we were in the studio all day.Lighting
This is our 6-light setup that our clients love.Equipment
This was captured on the Oily D600, 85mm 1.8, Six PCB Einstein's, Two Strips, One Small Soft, Beauty Dish, 6ft Octa Bank, 7in Reflector.Inspiration
Our puppy was just sitting there and we were taking some shots, this shot was a mistake and just luck of the draw, i saw the yawn, grabbed the camera, focused and boom. Pure. Luck.Editing
Stella (my puppies name) was so small at the time you could see the 7in reflector behind her a little bit, so i removed that in post, cropped, and posted. In my camera bag
We (my wife and I) mostly shoot in our studio and we primary shoot Nikon. We use Paul C Buff strobes, PCB Modifiers, Mola Modifiers, Tamron and Sigma lenses. We also shoot medium format rock a 1956 Rolleiflex 2.8eFeedback
Timing, don't look away, when you do look away thats when the magic happens. Be patient. Have good lighting. I always try to get everything perfect in camera so we don't need to spend too much time in post.
