This Image is one of many images of my Thesis work that is about Animals in captivity.
Artist Statement
Our society has been living a certain way for a long time; by eating, testing, and using animals for entertainment because we were raised to think that this is normal. I finally acknowledged that animals aren’t objects for us to take advantage of. Animals have the right to live their life as nature intended, rather than humans deciding for them. We wouldn’t want to do this to our own species by controlling their life, so why do it to theirs?
Animals in captivity is one issue that I have recognized and want to help the Animal Rights Movement by documenting animals in places that humans decided to house them in. For examples zoos, pet stores, slaughter farms, circus, horse-dog races, and testing facilities. These majestic beings are taken from their habitat to be placed in smaller environments by isolating them in cages, glass, and crates. My mission is helping those who don’t have a voice for themselves.
