Behind The Lens

Location

I take this photo during climbing on mountain Psunj in Croatia. It is a mountain in the southwestern Slavonia region in eastern Croatia. It is the highest mountain of Slavonia, with the highest peak of Brezovo polje at 984 m, an we were near Brezovo polje (Birch field).

Time

It was late afternoon in april. A few of us from photo club decided to take a walk at Psunj, one of our favorite location.

Lighting

Sun was going down. I was in deep shade behind my colleagues.

Equipment

Nikon D80, Tokina 12-24, 1/125 at f 6,3

Inspiration

I was looking for good landscape picture. But my intention also was to include my friends who are standing amazed with play of light.

Editing

It is all done in lightroom where I use graduated filter for the sky.

In my camera bag

I like my Tokina 12-24. For landscapes as for street photo. But it is only zoom lens I am using. Beside it I usualy take Nikkor 35 mm f/1.8, Nikkor 50/1.8 series E lens (cheap but good altough completely manual lens) and old but good Nikkor 200/4 (also completely manual). There are also Sigma 70/2,8 macro. And a tripod if I am going for landscapes or nature.

Feedback

Landscape is always interesting because of constantly changing light and colours. Always try to include something in the front and check exposition. My prefered mode in this situations is manual.
