Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on a beach in Nassau Bahamas

Time

2:02 pm on Saturday, Dec 6th, 2014

Lighting

I was on the beach, the lighting was bright and natural, barely any clouds

Equipment

I used a Canon semi-professional camera, no other equipment, no flash

Inspiration

I usually take pictures of birds whenever I can, they are beautiful. My camera is a semi-pro and the seagulls weren't too close so I was surprised to see how clear this photo came out. This particular seagull was closer than the others at some point. I chose to photograph it many times as well as others.

Editing

I added a little bit of contrast and brightness, nothing more

In my camera bag

I normally just have my Canon semi-pro camera with an extra battery, extra memory cards, and a charger. Its broken now so I've been using my Samsung phone and a simple Sony point-and-shoot camera.

Feedback

Animals, creatures, objects are created full of color and peculiarity. When something captures your attention, focus on its color, whether its in the eyes, the fur, the beak, any part. Focus on the color and think about how rich it is and capture that. Take many different angles, each movement creates a new change of lighting.
