After a tremendous storm in the Sea of Cortez my boat dragged anchor and went up on the beach.
I was ashore exploring and the crew were unable to prevent the accident.
We pounded all night further and further onto the sand and by morning we were easily 300 meters from deep water sitting upright in the sand.
With no tide to help our refloating I used pressure water to excavate a hole under the boat and then with the anchors set out to seaward Istarted the engines.
Using the prop wash of the reversed engines I excavated a channel back out into deep water.
It took 12 days of intense stress to finally get her floating again.
Damage was a tiny nick in one of the prop blades and my ego.
