Female or gynandromorph Trogonoptera brookiana. I saw hundreds of males puddling around sand but no females. Nice nice capture. Where was this in Penang? Ron

Location
At the old butterfly farm on Penang Island, MalaysiaTime
It was morning, but not sure of the time - the butterflies were still very active so quite early.Lighting
Really poor and hit and miss to get your subject into the right position for adequate light.ToEquipment
Nikon D3100 with Sigma 70-300mm telephoto, all handheld and using manual focus (my preference)Inspiration
It is the national butterfly of Malaysia but did not realise it was the ultra rare gynandromorphEditing
Only to slightly adjust for the exposure and ISOIn my camera bag
Nikon D300, D70, D3100 bodies, 55mm Nikkor and the Sigma 70-300mm lenses.Feedback
Be very, very patient and be prepared to return time after time to get the capture.
