Location

At the old butterfly farm on Penang Island, Malaysia

Time

It was morning, but not sure of the time - the butterflies were still very active so quite early.

Lighting

Really poor and hit and miss to get your subject into the right position for adequate light.To

Equipment

Nikon D3100 with Sigma 70-300mm telephoto, all handheld and using manual focus (my preference)

Inspiration

It is the national butterfly of Malaysia but did not realise it was the ultra rare gynandromorph

Editing

Only to slightly adjust for the exposure and ISO

In my camera bag

Nikon D300, D70, D3100 bodies, 55mm Nikkor and the Sigma 70-300mm lenses.
