Location
I took this photo at Chapel Pond in the town of Keene in High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. I don't get around well due to problems with my knees and this view was at the bottom of a steep hill but the day was so beautiful that I braved the climb to the shore and captured this shot. It's one of my personal favorites.Time
Around mid-morning. Maybe 10:30.Lighting
The valley where this pond is located is in shadow by mid afternoon so I knew I had to get it in the morning light.Equipment
I used my Canon Rebel XT I and took the shot without a tripod with adjustments for exposure.Inspiration
This valley is my favorite area of the Adirondacks. I am always inspired driving through this area.Editing
I did an HDR render to even out the tone of the picture and lend more clarity to the overall scene. In my camera bag
Often I only have my telephoto lens and my standard lens with me. If I'm shooting night shots I'll have my remote lens trigger and tripod. I will often bring my newer Canon as well.Feedback
Get to this area early in the morning and watch how the light changes. Partly overcast days work better but you can also make the best of direct sunlight especially on this pond.
