Location
This was taken at my house. I'm a mostly self taught wildlife photographer with certifications for photography. These is actually my daughter before her 3 week mark.Time
These is my favorite portrait of a person I ever took. It was midday, still healing and getting used to being a mother. She was restlessly sleeping till she heard the clicking of camera and my voice humming.Lighting
I work with natural lightly only, other light sources hurts my eyes. She was a bit to young to be fully outside in midday sun. So we were indoors. If you are in an area that's to dark, open nearest door or window fully (no screen unless you want screen effect), and ALWAYS look at the angle that light is moving. If the light was coming from opposite side you wouldn't see most of the babies face and it would have a darker feel to it.Equipment
My Nikon D3100, lens AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G, no tripod, no flash, I set my camera at F5.8 as well.Inspiration
I'm a spontaneous photographer because you see the person's or animal's true feelings at that moment. However little lady was restlessly sleeping, for the first time, and nothing seemed to work minus the sound of me and my camera clicking.Editing
Only thing I had to do, and mostly have to do to my photos, is once on computer the contrast doesn't look like what I saw. So I either have to make it stronger or weaker. This one was actually weaker, because I forgot to change my exposure on camera. In my camera bag
I'm a very simple photographer. I have my cleaning tools, my D3100, flash drives, sometimes laptop, SD cards for camera. Extra camera batteries, and bottles of water.Feedback
Natural lighting is your friend. Always look at its angle, and if it's to bright lower the exposure on your camera or find a thin sheet to block it. Don't be afraid to get on floor while taking photo.
