Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my sister's backyard. He had been hanging around for a few days just sitting in the tree so I grabbed some apples and sat there for two hours trying to lure him closer with the apples but he was more interested in his reflection in the lens. I was about a foot away from him when I snapped the photo.

Time

It was mid-afternoon when I took the photograph.

Lighting

I just used the natural light that was available to me.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D3000 with an 18-55 mm lens set at 38mm with the exposure set at 1/30 sec at f/5.0 and the ISO set at 250. I did not use a tripod.

Inspiration

I love taking photographs of wildlife and the opportunity presented itself so I just sat and waited for the perfect shot.

Editing

Yes, I did post-processing on this image but very little.I wanted the image to look as natural as possible so I just adjusted the exposure, contrast, highlights and shadow just a little.

In my camera bag

Nikon D3000 and a Canon Rebel T5, extra batteries, SD cards, rain covers, two18-55mm lens and two 55-250mm lens. I also carry a small pocket journal to write down anything interesting I see or photograph for future reference also to keep track of the times of the day I see the animals.

Feedback

Just lots of patience.
