Location
This photo was taken at the Great Camp Sagamore in upstate New York. The camp was owned by the Vanderbilt family and was their summer retreat.Time
The photo was taken in the late afternoon on an August day.Lighting
There were thin high clouds that softened the shadows and reflected in the water. I didn’t use any artificial light sources.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7100 DSLR with a 24mm AI manual focus lens and it was handheld.Inspiration
The light was interesting as was the reflections in the water.Editing
I processed the raw file in Lightroom 5 with minimal increase in contrast and minor adjustments in highlights and shadows.In my camera bag
I carry the Nikon camera and three prime lenses, a 24 , a 35 and a 50.Feedback
It is always about the light. The subject matter is secondary to the light.
