Location
At the famous Nürburgring racetrack in GermanyTime
I arrived at the track early at 7 a.m. to catch the fridays test sessions. Maybe 2-3 hours in I made my way to the top op the pits to try some overhead shots when the SCG003 rolled out its garageLighting
I had to work with what I got as per usual around the racetrack. The morning had been a little misty but at this point the sky b gab clearing up.Equipment
Because I had to lean way over forward to get a clean view, I used my old Nikon D90 and a simple 18-105 kit lens, just in case I might drop it.Inspiration
Some time before that shit I tried the same thing for the first time at another racetrack which unfortunately had fences over the pit lane that completely destroyed the shot. The Nürburgring didn’t have these so I tried again.Editing
Right above the car was a massive pole with a sign showing the team logo. Getting rid of it was a whole lotta work because I had to clone parts of the engine and suspension. Absolutely worth it!In my camera bag
That changes a lot, depending on what I do. At the track I almost exclusively use a 7D with a 70-200 2.8 Studio works On the other hand I do with a Nikon D5 and prime lenses, preferably a 85 1.4Feedback
Go out and keep trying new stuff. If you want to capture something outstanding, do something different!
