Every Good Friday the way of the cross is re-enacted through the streets of Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, Ireland. Jesus is played by a professional actor, while rest of the cast is a mixture of members of a battle re-enactment club and students in a local secondary school, Desmond College. The procession starts at one of the cemeteries, Calvary Graveyard, on the north of the town and follows a route of about 2 Km, to the Roman Catholic church, in the center of the town.
