Location
This photo is taken at Sri Harmandir Sahib, also informally referred to as the "Golden Temple", which is the holiest Gurdwara of Sikhism, located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, IndiaTime
This is one of my favourite image. We had gone to the holy shrine around night to capture in its full beauty. This is a hand held long exposure shot as I had no tripod with me because it isn't allowed inside the Gurudwara. There were many people around me so I went very near to the Sarovar and took the support of hands and the floor to stablize the camera.Lighting
I specifically wanted the water to look smooth & lights to look more brighter to make it look flimsy. So I increased the shutter speed bit by bit till the time I got the perfect shot.Equipment
This shot was taken with Sony SLT A58 with 18-55 kit lens.Inspiration
Once you're in the holy shrine campus, you're instantly into a different world. The magical feel of hymns and the lights looked very intriguing. After series of shots I decided to try a long exposure shot, which luckily went good.Editing
Honestly, for this shot I have done very minimal post-processing. I have only adjusted the highlights & color corrected few parts. In my camera bag
Earlier I used to carry my Sony SLT A58 with Sony 50mm 1.8 lens with me all the time. Recently I have switched from Sony to Canon and now I own Canon 750d with 18-55 kit lens. Along with this I own Samyang 14mm 2.8 lens. I'm still exploring new lenses in Canon to extend my kit.Feedback
One important thing is to experiment and try on the shot at different settings. Before getting this shot I had taken around 10-15 shots with different settings till I got the perfect one. Also, being a handheld long exposure shot, one should always review by zooming in to see if the shot is sharp.
