Location
I took this photo at the Umgeni River Bird Park in Durban, South Africa. It was one of the first pictures I took with my first D-SLR Camera.Time
It was midday. The sunlight was breaking through the trees above the birds, helping to bring out their beautiful colours. It is still one of my favourite shots. The parrots themselves are twins and are one of the most photogenic birds I have ever come across. It was taken on December 28th 2014 at 1:05 PM.Lighting
The lighting in this picture is purely natural. Its one of those pictures where you shoot with an image in mind but you have to hope for the best.Equipment
It was taken with a Nikon D3300 with a AF-S DX VR Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G II Lens.Inspiration
I was trying to figure out good composition in my photography and wanted a shot with something beautiful. It naturally fell together. I feel that this was pure luck that they both decided to look right at me.Editing
This picture is purely natural. I did no adujstments as I didn't feel the need to.In my camera bag
I always carry my normal Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G II Lens as well as a Nikkor 35-80mm 1:4-5.6D and Cosina Macro 1:4x. A tripod is usually in my bag too.Feedback
Shooting wildlife takes a lot of patience. You never know what you will capture. Take many shots and carry extra SD Cards. My camera is usually on burst mode when I'm shooting animals. Any sudden movement they make can turn into an amazing picture.
