Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot right outside my Town home's front door. I'm a self-taught amateur photographer. I learn as I go but the excitement with that is infinite I tend to be a perfectionist or, try to be. But, I have learned that even if the shot is not as good as I'd hoped, there is still something that can be artistically enhanced. I do not use Photoshop however, I use the simple tools in my computer. I can change colors, hues, contrasts, and shades with lighting. The image itself remains pure.

Time

It was an evening shot. I happened to look up and see the bright moon peering through the tree branches. You can't pass any opportunity if it can be helped.

Lighting

Progress, not perfection. Tripods and timers, inhales and exhales.

Equipment

I have basic equipment including a CanonA710 IS Powershot and 3 different size tripods. My best equipment however is my mind and my eyes. You know what they say about beauty?!!!

Inspiration

I'm a night owl and I love looking outside at night to find the light within the dark. I try to approach my life in that same fashion.

Editing

My camera is digital so, that's half the work and less the cost. I'll enhance the worthy shots on my computer and I'll laminate the photo's as well. I do use my pics in arts/crafting project.

In my camera bag

I just use the equipment stated formerly and as of yet, I do not know all there is to know about my camera. I'm currently checking into repairing my first camera, a Minolta X700. I look forward to using the various lenses.

Feedback

In any night shot, be patient. Sometimes you think the shot was a waste but, when you look at the bigger picture, it's a winner. It still represents you and your talent and passion.
