Location
This photo was taken in Punggol beach in Singapore. It was my first visit to Punggol beach to shoot sunrise, but few times been there for sunsets.Time
It was around 6:15am (22 Feb 2015) i reached the Punggol beach and searching for an interesting spot. I was moving here and there to locate a spot with interesting fore ground , finally i found a place to rest my tripod and camera focusing a building. My eyes and camera lens were waiting for the sun rise. Time was 7:40am, the golden rays started filling the beach. When sun rise behind the building, I started shooting in different angles.Lighting
When the sun breaks that new day, the quality of light was amazing and painted the sky with golden rays. Particularly when it reaches the top of the building the light sparkle the pond with beautiful reflection.Equipment
I used Nikon D7000 and Tokina AT-X 11-16mm f2.8 lens with an 11mm focal length, f/16, ISO 200.Inspiration
Sun rise are always energetic and colorful even when seeing in photos. Likewise i saw a photo in one of a traveler magazine, shot while the beginning of the twilight before sunrise, I liked the photo very much but I felt sun rays was missed by that photographer. Then I decided to compose a image in the same spot with stunning sun rays and results with this snap.Editing
Yes, I did some post processing to increase the white balance in left side of the image which was darker when shoot. In my camera bag
Mine is very simple kit with a tripod, Nikon D7000 camera, Nikon 18-105mm standard zoom lens and 11-16mm Tokina Wide angle lens.Feedback
Usually I spent much time in prepare my shots before i visit a place rather spending time in post processing at home. Some time I pack off with some good snaps but sometimes with a plan to revisit. I personally feel when the eyes and lens were in sync then it will result a very good image, now i am learning the tricks of syncing it.
