Behind The Lens

Location

The bird just landing to rest a few seconds on this rock alongside the immense majestic lake Piekouagami while passing by, myself experimented enough to have equipment always ready and fine settled, i can take many shoots fastly while zooming, sadly the bird was there a very short time turning and moving

Time

around 16.30 by sunny day end of May

Lighting

mid-soft sun behind me

Equipment

Panasonic Lumix TZ3, no flash, zoom 6x

Inspiration

the difficulty to well shoot such bird as always too much active and so shortly stationary, more a truly expressive bird

Editing

a little framing to accentuate the mood

In my camera bag

having a great Lowepro bag well equiped, as naturalist photographer very often in the field: portable flash, spare batteries for cam and flash, 2 very light portable tripod, emergency cell, knife, cleaning stuff for lens and more, 2 cleaning pens, shadow hood, different filters for macros ++, little notebook with pencils to write any memos or infos, emergency lighter, small needles, some emergency strings, military alu sheet for adequate urgence protection, a special tool with magnifying glass included to use in case of sting insects or else, gaffer tape, and more other little things

Feedback

for any photo fan, know your tools-equipments with fine accuracy, read and re-read your cam booklet while practising frequently with, shoot, shoot, shoot and, as I do since over 15 years (even with 2 past great photos courses ) , use and do refer back daily or so to this excellent web service -- http://digital-photography-school.com/ --- doing all these tips will keep anyone more and more experimented +++++
