This was taken in front of my house by the pool area,it was around 6:37 AM with the most stunning sky, the tree reflection on the water is of a old Kiaart tree in our yard that casted the most amazing shadows every morning.Time
It was taken at 6:37 AM mid week, it was one of the lucky days to wake up early and rewarded with such a amazing sky.Lighting
The sky I believe was the main factor of this image with its variety of colors with the addition of the trees reflection on the water, the body of water been used as a mirror is the pool.Equipment
This was taken with a Samsung Galaxy S3, its not the most impressive set up, but to get the shot it was adjustments of the angle and some how i always ended up lying flat on the freezing ground for that perfect angle, no other equipment was used.Inspiration
It was the day of my mid semester exams and a great way to calm and ready myself was to wake up and just sit outside to calm and clear my mind, everyday holds its own surprises some days its overcast and misted over some sunny and heating the earth and others pouring with rain but regardless of the weather there is always that sense of beauty to it.Editing
The only post production i did to this image was adding my logo, I believe in very minimal post production as the image was taken is what you work with to keep its integrity in place. In my camera bag
My Camera bag normally consists of a Nikon D60 camera with Nikkor 18-55mm f4.5 lens, Sigma 70-300mm f5.6 zoom lens, Sigma EF-530DG ST Flash gun, Aperture Remote trigger and a tripod, On occasion I use my brothers Cannon 650D with a 50mm F1.8 lens.Feedback
The key to capture a photo like this is persistence and timing with a touch of surprise, The golden hours are generally the best time to capture images as the coloring in the sky is most true and beautiful may it be morning or night also if you have a feeling that something would make a good shot don't give up when it wasn't what you expected, change your timing take a different approach and try again until you have that feeling that you achieved it. and the element of surprise is beauty is in the most unexpected places the ones you never thought to try give everything a try and see what the outcome is experimentation is part of learning. My favorite quote is "When the visual in your head becomes the lump in your throat that is photography"
