Taken during our trip to South America in November last year. When we arrived I was disappointed at the numbers of people all trying to photograph the same image. Despite lugging the tripod along it was impossible to use it. I therefore tried to take an image that showed the sense of scale.

I woke early to a wonderful sunrise although the ground was still very cold. Grabbed the camera quickly to capture this before it disappeared.

Spotted on our evening walk in an adjacent field. The walk follows the track of an old railway line that was axed during the 1960s.
