Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in Melbourne Central . It's called the shot tower .Time
The photo was taken mid morning on an overcast day.Lighting
I've wanted to take this shot for a while however if the on a sunny day the light is uneven for this type is shot... The cloud cover on the day allowed for an even spread of light ..Equipment
For this photo I used a Nikon D7100 with a 10-24mm SP lens . Hand held with no flash .Inspiration
I think the symmitry of cone shaped roof contrasted against the brick tower worked nicely ..Editing
The photo was shot in colour converted to B&W in post production using light room . Otherwise some minor contrast adjustments ..In my camera bag
I normally do a lot of walking around so I don't oftern take a great deal of equipment . I try to refine what I'm after prior to a shoot and pack what I feel I will require . In this instance I was looking at wide angle, using different angles .... So I packed my 10-24mm and 24-70mm .... My 24-70mm is always on my camera ..Feedback
I think finding angles that. If you can show someone a photo of something they have seen over and over but from a unique angle and getting a "wow" that is what photography is about . Taking time ... Don't rush ... Where is the light coming from etc ..
