Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was part of one unforgettable road trip with some friends, around Scotland. We were driving around, looking for great landscapes and breathtaking views - and Scotland is just exceptional with that. The most amazing part is that I took it with a simple automatic Sony Cybershot, which I keep fighting with to have more adjustment options.

Time

Middle of the day, no special lighting, but the whole environment and the composition of the clouds, the mountains, the spots of the sun on the grass inspired the picture.

Lighting

Nop. The day was already perfect itself

Equipment

Automatic compact Sony Cyber-shot (no semi-profissional or Profissional equipment)

Inspiration

When we found this place I could not stop looking at it. I realised how small we were in front of such greatness and such beauty. This picture is certainly one of my favorites.

Editing

Since I could not take it as raw, I had to put some adjustments on it. Not drastic changes: just a small percentage of Gama correction, offset, contrast and bright.

In my camera bag

As I don't have Professional equipment yet, I always carry with me my Sony Cybershot compact

Feedback

Well, everything is about training. This picture was a catch, and I do not have anymore from this angle. As I can't adjust aperture, focus, etc, I tried to work on the whole, on what the landscape was trying to tell me there. I would suggest to take several pictures, then, later you have more material to work with.
