Thank you so much for this excellent feedback, especially coming from someone who captures birds and birds of prey so wonderfully

What a fantastic shot. The detail in feathers is awesome. I love how you were able to keep the lighting well balanced. Your work really shows passion for photography.

Around about midday, but it’s been a fair few years back and my brain isn’t what it used to be! ????Lighting
It was a lovely day in the six weeks holidays.Equipment
I took this with an Olympus SP-800UZ. Just a point and shoot moment, in all honesty.Inspiration
I love owls in general, but this guy was stunning. I fell in love with that face and those eyes, and I love the contrast of his eyes and beak against his feathers. I could have stayed there all day and snapped away at him.Editing
Absolutely none, in this case. To be frank, I don’t do a great deal of editing. It applies to most photos I take. I’ll only edit if it’s absolutely necessary. In my camera bag
At present, I have a Sony A7. I use an e-mount adapter to connect numerous lenses I’ve collected over the years.Feedback
Just look, see, watch. I do believe that to be a good photographer, you’ve got to have an eye for an image. It doesn’t matter how you capture a shot, it’s about the thought and feeling behind it. Most of my favourite photos have been taken on my phone, although I’m almost surgically attached to my camera!
