Behind The Lens

Location

Along the Offa's Dyke path near Montgomery in Wales

Time

It was taken about 4pm after we had spent the day visiting the Castle and little village of Montgomery - which i highly recommend for anyone looking for some very quaint picturesque views ! The village has hardly been changed over the yearsand the Castle is a very romantic ruin set upon a cliff top !

Lighting

The rain clouds were beginning to draw in from over the Welsh hills and we were almost done for the day. I wanted to capture the moodiness presented by the sky as a contrast to the lively majestic Oak's that line the Dyke !

Equipment

Just a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40 on intelligant auto :) I prefer just to point and shoot and hope for the best !

Inspiration

All along the Dyke are a row of Oak trees which stand out from the farmland beyond. I couldn't resist trying to capture these beautiful trees !

Editing

No - I just used Paint.net to convert the image to black and white ! I don't like altering my photographs too much - i prefer to leave them as originalas possible !

In my camera bag

Only my compact super-zoom Panasonic Lumix - oh and the staples such as drink and snacks of course !

Feedback

Honestly not really - a lot of capturing the perfect picture is just luck ! If you are in the right place at the right time then snap away ! Sometimes you can head out to take a great picture and the elements just fail to come together, so i find it best to always have a camera with me when i head out !
