I took this photo during a bird exhibition in a park of Szeged, Hungary. While a lot of people were around him, I was very impressed by the calm, the serenity and somehow the majesty of this animal.Time
The photo was taken during the afternoon, few clouds in the sky but enough light to take a picture.Lighting
As a photograph, I'm basically equipped. If you like this picture, maybe you don't realize that it has been taken with a basic camera. As such, I use no material to increase the light, I have to play with my camera, looking for its limits most of the time,in order to be able to take picture in any conditions.Equipment
As I said before, my camera is a very basic one, not even a reflex, it's a Panasonic DMC FZ 48 which flash I never use, generally preferring not to shoot if really I can't. As the bird is laying on its resting area, it was not to difficult to capture its face and its incredible expression.Inspiration
I'm not really used to take pictures of birds, my preferred field of photography remain the nature but mostly I concentrate on landscapes, trees or whatever static. Due to my equipment I can not really take high reactivity needed pictures except having incredible conditions. In that case, I was lucky, the bird was standing on its wood stick, alone, dominating its area. Seeing this, I knew it would be a great picture.Editing
Before taking this photo I knew that as it was taken in a park, even if blurred, few people would appear on the picture so I changed the background to black. Then, I increased the details through an easy manipulation, these two actions where enough to get this result. In my camera bag
Not so many things, as I said I'm basically equipped so except my camera I just have a simple tripod, nothing more.Feedback
I heard and rode many times that the material is far from beeing what makes a photograph a good one. That even with a good camera, if you don't have a sense of the composition, of the esthetic and so on, everything wich is needed for making a good photograpy, you will not take a good shot. If you like this picture, so this picture is my best advice for any photographer who, like me, is passionate in photography but has to deal with his material, it can be more difficult to take good picture, but obviously it's possible.
