Location
I took this photo at ke'iki beach on oahu hawaii. this spot was made famous by clark little for its intense shore break.Time
this was later in the day around sunset.Lighting
Hawaii has amazing lighting and its so easy and yet so hard to shoot there, especially water photography everything has to come together, but thats what i love about it.Equipment
I usually shoot with a canon mark III 1dx, but i flooded it this winter, a very expensive lesson lol, frustrated and having to save fro a new one, i turned to my peers and saw what people were doing with go pros I've always had one but usually used my dslr after getting a proper housing for my go pro i started to try and master this little camera, and this is what i got at the end of the winter this year.Inspiration
this photographer named Robbie Crawford he shoots out of California and only uses a go pro, i really look up to his work and is always inspiring me.Editing
i used light room a little bit to sharpen it up a bit, I'm not very good with that stuff kind of old school i guess, would rather get the shot right the first time i guess. In my camera bag
canon mark III 1dx, canon 5d mark III, and recently got the new canon 7d mark II. lenses canon 400mm prime, 70-200 prime, 8-15 fish eye prime, 50mm prime, and rokinon 35 mm prme. SPL water housing 11inch dome pro, 50mm port, fish eye port and 85mm port. gopro hero 3+, 4+ all back editions and knekt trigger system for go pro and 5 inch dome port. Gath surf helmet, my dafinsFeedback
Its all about putting your time in to find your style and angle with water photography, everyone is doing it now and its how you separate your self from the rest while also being comfortable in massive surf!!!
