Behind The Lens

Location

This particular photo was taken at Kovalam beach, Kerala, India.

Time

This could probably be around 5:30ish PM when the Sun is about to set.

Lighting

I wanted the viewers to experience the scale of vastness of the waves in the beach and the background lighthouse in comparison to the person taking a leisurely stroll. The contrast between the waves, clouds and the lighthouse in the background is noteworthy

Equipment

In this specific picture, believe it or not, I have used my mobile phone (at that time, it was I think, a 5MP camera)!

Inspiration

The view of the landscape and the color contrast has instantly made me capture this beautiful moment.

Editing

I did some color grading to make the picture look HDR-ish. As stated, it was taken with a 5MP phone camera in 2012.

In my camera bag

I now own a Canon 750D, a beginner's DSLR but has a potential to take professional grade pictures.

Feedback

It doesn't matter what kind of camera gear you own. If you can take the kind of pictures (as above) from a 8 year old 5MP phone camera, imagine the wonders you could do with the advanced DSLRs. It's all in the technique and composition skills. Gear is secondary, in my opinion ????
