Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this photo in Calloway County, Kentucky not far from my home. I had hiked into the woods after a twelve foot snowfall to get some shots of the snow. I walked right up on this beautiful bird just hanging there enjoying his seed meal. I took several shots of him and he was still hanging there when I walked on.

Time

The time of day that I obtained this photograph was approximately 2:00 PM.

Lighting

I was deep in the woods with about a foot of snow on the ground that had fell the night before. The Sun was in and out from behind the clouds and of course the light effects from the snow had an impact on the lighting conditions.

Equipment

A Nikon D7100 with a AF Nikkor 70-300 mm Lens

Inspiration

I love to capture wildlife photographs, it fills my heart with joy!

Editing

In my camera bag

My Nikon D7100 Camera; Nikkor Lens 70-300; Nikkor 18-55 Lens; and a Micro and Macro Lens.

Feedback

Always be prepared with the right lens. When I go on long hikes or short hikes I always have my camera bag with me . And Venture out early in the morning or late afternoon to see more wildlife movement.
