I took this photo on our street. There is a beautiful smoke tree that blooms yearly in a gorgeous shade of pink.Time
This was taken mid day - I know that harsh light can sometimes be a photographers enemy but there was enough shade from the tree and the sky had cloud as it had rained earlier.Lighting
The lighting was nothing special. It was cloud cover mid day.Equipment
This was hand held on Canon EOS 7D, Sigma 105mm macro lens shot wide open on aperture priority.Inspiration
I love this smoke tree, the colours are gorgeous in it unlike some I have seen. I like macro shots and took my Sigma 105mm out for a play as the rain drops on the tree were fascinating to me.Editing
I shoot in RAW always. When I took this shot, I only imported into lightroom and I exported in JPG to post on the web. There was no post processing and it was SOC.In my camera bag
I have a Rokinon 85mm, Sigma 105mm, Canon 75 -300 and a whole load of lensbabies from the Edge 85, Sweet 50, Sweet 35 and the optic swap system for my composer pro and scout.Feedback
Take a few shots especially when shooting macro and hand holding. A tripod would have been better however I was just out for a walk and didn't want to drag my tripod along. Shoot what makes you feel good, what you like. Don't try to emulate others in your photography - create your own style. You can, by all means, take some tips and tricks from others but, at the end of the day, if your photo makes you smile, makes you think, makes you remember something of that day that perhaps you forgot then the photo has done it's job. I am a rule breaker as far as photography goes, I don't like the rules of thirds, I don't like being the same as someone else. We are all unique and our photography should be the same. Remember, live your life to the fullest and take photographs along the way.
