Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on safari in Tanzania. We were in the Tarangire National Park.

Time

It was late afternoon, the last of 7 days we had spent on safari. Our guide spotted a small herd that had stopped to eat along the side of the path. This guy was more interested in us than his dinner!

Lighting

Nothing special

Equipment

I was shooting with an early model, Canon digital Rebel.

Inspiration

How could I not?

Editing

A little cropping to emphasize the eye more. I've also printed this in its original color, like this and in black and white on silvered paper.

In my camera bag

My rebel and three or four lenses

Feedback

I found that when I shoot wildlife like this, if I use the multi exposure setting I often capture expressive elements, like seeming smiles or blinks that were not the intent.
