I really just want to give everyone a huge huge thank you for all your fantastic comments with this photograph. I really am grateful, and your wonderful words, really are appreciated.
For those who have asked, I took this photograph, about 4 years ago, when I visited (again!) Scotland. I had a very basic, entry level DSLR, at the time, A Sony A200, and used the kit lens (18-55mm). On the day, at Loch Ard, the loch was like glass. The light was fantastic, and all I did was move around the jetty to get the angle, and composition that I wanted. One click, and I knew I had got what I wanted. Since then, this photograph has made me very proud, with the awards it has won. Thank you for reading this, and I hope that someone, somewhere will find inspiration from it....

The Photo was taken at Loch Ard, in ScotlandTime
The day was very bright and sunny, and this was taken around 2pm. Fortunately, the sun was high in the sky, so the light wasn't too troublesome.Lighting
I sometimes use my flashgun, for fill-in flash, on some landscapes, but felt I didn't need it on this occasion.Equipment
This was shot on a basic, entry level Sony A200, using a very basic 18-55mm kit lens, @ 18mm.Inspiration
I had met up with friends, and they had wandered off, so I wanted a few moments to myself, to enjoy some tranquility. I then, saw this tranquil shot!Editing
Yes, I initially bracketed 3 exposures, then processed them using editing software, to pull out the deep shadows, and to define more detail.In my camera bag
Canon 7D, 24-105mm L Series lens, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 w/a lens, Canon 50mm f1.8, Sigma 120-400mm Zoom, Sigma 105mm macro lens, remote shutter release, 2 lots of filters cases, (3 x Cokin P ND hard grad, and 3 x Cokin P ND soft grad, 1-8 ND Cokin P filters and 1 x 10 stopper), 2 x flashguns, various lens cloths, batteries, memory cards etc etc. Not forgetting my trusted Manfrotto (legs) tripod with Giotto ball head.Feedback
It doesn't matter what basic camera or lens you have, paying attention to detail, composition, and knowing your camera and it's capabilities to me is the essence of taking a decent picture......
